 | Cliff Richard and The Shadows | | It may have been twenty years since their last performance together, but there is still huge demand to see Cliff Richard, Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch & Brian Bennett when they reunite to celebrate their 50th anniversary in the music industry!
Tickets for the Sheffield Arena show on Wednesday 14th October have sold so quickly that a second date has now been added on Thursday 15th October 2009.
Cliff Richard and the Shadows are reuniting for the final time, 20 years after they last performed together. They dominated the British popular music scene in the late 50's and early 60's, enjoying solo and joint success, achieving between them no less than 19 number one hits, including: 'Living Doll', 'It's All In The Game', 'Travellin' Light', 'Bachelor Boy'. 'Wonderful Land' and 'Apache'. They appeared with Cliff in the films 'The Young Ones' and 'Summer Holiday', and together wrote most of the hit songs for both movies.
The partnership dissolved in 1968 when both artists pursued individual solo careers. The Shadows enjoyed Top 10 successes throughout the 70's and 80's and toured the world extensively. Cliff went on to achieve huge worldwide success as a solo artist, and in addition to scoring the most Top 10 and the most Top 20 hits on the UK Singles Chart, he remains the only UK artist ever to achieve a No.1 single in five consecutive decades.
