Underwater hockey hits Sheffield
Date: Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April

Time: 9am - 6pm Saturday and 8.30am - 5pm Sunday

Event: British Octopush Association National (BOA) Open and Ladies quarter and semi finals

Hockey with a difference is on the agenda for Yorkshire's sporting public this weekend.

Underwater hockey stars from around the UK will do battle at the bottom of the Ponds Forge pool at the British Octopush Association National Open and Ladies quarter and semi finals for places in the competition's final in Sheffield in July.

Teams from Leeds, Edinburgh, West London and Manchester, amongst many others, will be represented at the Sheffield International Venues’ managed sports centre.

Octopush players wear a diving mask, fins, snorkel and a water polo style cap whilst in play. A short stick is used to divert the puck into three metre wide goals at either end of the pool and black or white gloves are worn to indicate the team.

Entry for spectators is FREE.
