The New Year has brought a new look to Sheffield’s Concord Sports Centre to encourage members of the community to get fit and healthy in 2010.
The Fitness Unlimited gym in the Shiregreen centre has had a major revamp creating a more spacious layout and a new room dedicated to weights and resistance workout. New décor completes the facelift to downstairs gym facilities which are Inclusive Fitness Initiative-accredited.
Concord’s poolside changing rooms have also had an overhaul. Old male and female rooms have been replaced by a unisex changing village, with team and family cubicles, a vanity area and large shower area.
The modernisations are to be celebrated on January 30-31 with a family open weekend. For £4 a day for the whole family, customers can take part in a host of activities including swimming, football, martial arts and a bouncy castle.
Richard Apps, General Manager at the centre, which is operated by Sheffield International Venues, said: “The refurbishment shows our continued commitment to bringing customers the best fitness facilities.
“The modernisation will make customers more comfortable and will make the centre easier to use, while still being quality and value for money. We can’t wait to officially show it off to the public at the end of January, which already promises to be a busy weekend.”
The sports centre offers a range of fitness classes for all ages and abilities from kids’ cardio sessions to over 50s classes such as Silver Circuits, plus school holiday clubs, kids fitness classes and a Heart Disease Support Group.
