Businesses encouraged to sign up to ‘oar inspiring’ challenge!

Sheffield commercial law firm Nabarro LLP are calling for all budding Sir Steve Redgraves and Matthew Pinsents to take part in a charity corporate rowing challenge.

The inaugural challenge is taking place over three days, May 19 – 21, at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. To ensure as many people as possible can take part, teams can choose their preferred time to complete the challenge between 12 and 3pm on either of the days.

The aim is for each team of four to row as far as they can in 45 minutes – teams are allowed to change rowers as little or as often as they like. Entry fee per team is £40 with all proceeds being donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust. In addition, all participants are encouraged to raise as much money as possible in sponsorship for the charity.

Prizes will be awarded to the team that rows the furthest and to the team that raises the most money for charity. Prizes include ‘access all areas’ tickets to a round of the British Touring Car Championship.

Event Organiser Jeremy Thompson, Trainee Solicitor at Nabarro, said: “We are delighted to have launched the challenge and are hoping that businesses will back the event and enter as many teams as possible.

“We have already had great support from Westfield Health, who are entering a team, and Sheffield International Venues who have provided us with the fantastic Ponds Forge as our venue.

“The Teenage Cancer Trust has been one of our chosen charities in recent years and is a very worthwhile cause. We hope to raise as much money as possible for them.

“I am sure that the challenge will bring out the competitive edge of organisations in the city and hopefully everyone will want to stick their oar in!”
