Double Olympic gold swimming medallist and Speedo Learn To Swim ambassador, Rebecca Adlington, will be joining the Speedo Sea Squad Mascots for a special mums and toddlers Learn To Swim event - which will be hosted at the Speedo Roadshow outside the City Hall Barkers Pool, Sheffield on Wednesday 19th October from 12.45pm-2.00pm.
At this exciting interactive, FREE swim-themed event, mums and their kids will be able to meet Rebecca, as well as play fun games and enjoy activities with the Sea Squad mascots, including face painting, balloon modelling and the opportunity to take part in a colouring competition. In a fun, relaxed environment mums can also discover more about Speedo's swimfit and health and wellbeing ranges.
As part of the event, everyone who visits the Speedo Roadshow will receive a FREE swim voucher for Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, managed by Sheffield International Venues (SIV), and what's more, the first 20 mums and their children to arrive at the Speedo Roadshow, will be given a Speedo Learn to Swim Towel worth RRP £16.00.
The main aim of the Learn To Swim event is to encourage more children to learn to swim at an early age, as swimming is a major life skill, opening the doors to many other water -based activities. Speedo's Learn To Swim range of swimwear, training aids and accessories is divided into three simple, progressive stages, which help build confidence and get children enjoying the water in no time.
Rebecca is a strong supporter of Speedo's Learn To Swim initiative and firmly believes all children should have the opportunity to take to the water in a safe and fun way, "Learning how to swim enables kids to feel confident in the water and opens the door to a range of other water sports". During her time at the Speedo Roadshow, Rebecca will be available to have her photo taken with fans and sign autographs.
