Top UK athletes to head to Sheffield
A host of the biggest names in UK athletics are set to compete in Sheffield when the city plays host to the Aviva Indoor UK Trials and Championships.
The prestigious event, which takes place at the English Institute of Sport – Sheffield (EIS Sheffield), returns to the city for the seventh year in a row, from 11 – 12 February 2012.
As the penultimate trials before the Olympic trials in June 2012, the competition is a chance for the top athletes to make their mark and win a place in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at the IAAF World Indoor Championships taking place in March in Istanbul.
The big names set to compete in the championships, which will be televised on Channel 4, will be announced in the New Year.
