It is a long course swimming activity which is 50m. Set yourself a personal challenge of completing the ultimate 5k, or the 2.5k or 1.5k. Alternatively join up with family, friends and colleagues for the Team 5k.
Last year Swimathon raised £1.5million for Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Swimathon Foundation. This year we want to raise even more to help Marie Curie nurses provide free nursing care to cancer patients and those with other terminal illnesses in their own homes.
Your money will help fund the work of more than 2,000 Marie Curie nurses across the UK and will mean that more terminally ill people will have the chance to die at home. Statistically, more than 50% of cancer deaths still occur in the hospital, the place people say they would least like to be.
