We would like to inform customers that there has been a change to the original programme. Please note that PHILIP GLASS The Olympian: Lighting of the Torch and RAVEL Pavane pour une Infante Défunte (arr. for wind quintet and piano) do not feature in the concert programme.

Ensemble 360 celebrates the forthcoming Olympics with a programme which explores the connections between sport and classical music.

The concert features a rare chance to hear André Caplet’s effervescent Quintet, music featured at the 1936 and 1984 Olympic Games, pieces by composers with some surprising connections to the world of sport, and a new work by US-born composer Stephen Montague. Montague’s piece vividly demonstrates that classical music can be just as powerful an inspiration to physical exercise as any other musical style!

Tickets priced at £10, £7 & £3 for Music in the Round (subject to booking fees) at City Hall - Sheffield are available online at www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk, in person at the City Hall Box Office or on 0114 2 789 789.
